Sutton Support Centre
Sutton Support Centre is located at the Sutton Christian Fellowship, High Pavement, Sutton-in-Ashfield on :
- Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
A high priority is being given to supporting people in the community who have enduring mental health difficulties.
Support centres make an important contribution to meeting this need. Their primary purpose is to provide a friendly and supportive environment where people can assist each other and gain ready access to professional help.
They combine some of the recreational features of a social club, but with more focused therapeutic and educational activities. User
involvement in developing and implementing operational policy is encouraged.
Potential centre members must demonstrate that they have mental health difficulties in order to attend and this usually done, in the case of self referral, by an interview with relevant centre leader.
Alternatively, a referral from a care professional will be acceptable.
A Project Leader heads a small team of staff and volunteer
helpers at each centre and they are ideal places to develop friendships and receive support.
All support centres provide a cooked meal and beverages for a small charge.
We have three Support Centres—Kirkby, Mansfield and Sutton.
Anybody with a mental health difficulty is welcome to attend.
